94 Years Remembered in 94 Days-Post 33 (Letter from Arizona Governor)

This letter is a bit hard to read so I will write down what it says.   Ted Park sent it to me a few years ago and I couldn't find it so he sent it to me again.  It is a letter from Sidney P. Osborn, who was the Governor of Arizona and it is dated March 14, 1942.   I remember my mom would say (I don't think she liked him very much) that Sidney P's in the governor's chair, with the emphasis on P's).

To Whom it May Concern:

The bearer, Mrs. Edward Parks, accompanied by her sister and brother, Miss Teresa Scott and Mr. William Scott, are enroute  on a trip from Douglas, Arizona to Washington D.C., and return.  They come from an old and one of the finest Arizona families who are personal friends of mine whom I can heartily recommend.

Courtesies shown to them along the way will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Sidney P. Osborn
Governor

I don't know the story behind this, but they were going to visit their brother, Tom Scott, in Washington.   I am sure they went by train.   I don't know if they needed a letter because of the war.  Maybe Ted can shed some light on this.

However, this is pretty amazing to have the governor say the things about our family that he did.
