Last Wednesday, Dave and I drove to State Farm Stadium to get his second Phizer vaccine. I had both of mine as of February 5. However, we had to wait on his because he wasn't an educator, just in the age group. We had gone three week earlier for his first one. I was fortunate to be able to get both of mine at Chandler/Gilbert earlier.
I have been totally impressed with how Maricopa County has handled this. In my opinion, it is probably the only thing Arizona has done right throughout this awful pandemic. I am grateful for that.
The whole process was amazing! I can't even begin to thank all of the volunteers and the health professionals for all that they have done to make this happen. Right after he got his second "shot" I have to say I got really teary. We will continue to be very careful, but it is such a relief to know that we are protected.
I was dealing with a bout of diverticulitis which I have had before, but that is nothing compared to the alternative. Fortunately, my doctor called in an antibiotic since I have dealt with this before. I spent the day in bed yesterday, but today is much better.
Tomorrow, we are actually going to go to a spring training game. Dave's Mariners are playing my Diamondbacks. He is excited about going to the Mariners facility. I am excited for a hot dog and a beer! We are going to spend the night in Glendale so that we don't have to drive back late with the traffic. I know that we still have to be very cautious, but at least we can start some form of normal life.
Please get vaccinated, keep wearing masks and being careful. I want nothing more than to be with family and friends again and hope that we can get back our lives.
Thank you to President Biden for getting this and for doing all he can to make this work for us. He gets it and that is what is most important. As I have said SO MANY TIMES, I don't get how this has become political. The virus doesn't care what beliefs you have. It attacks anyone and everyone.
